How much is a private jet?
Costs can vary depending on different factors, but in general, the smaller the aircraft, the more affordable the hourly rate will be. A turboprop charter starts around $2,000 an hour while a heavy jet charter costs closer to $10,00 an hour.
To provide clients with a quick snapshot of the costs associated with booking a private jet charter, we put together standard pricing from some common routes and aircraft.
Please note that the rates provided through the online private jet cost calculator are estimates only. For a more detailed and accurate estimate, we invite you to speak with one of our private flight advisors by calling 888-593-9066.

How are private jet prices determined?
The private jet charter cost is determined by three major considerations:
- The type of aircraft behind chartered
- Availability of the preferred aircraft
- The location of the aircraft relative to the departure location and post-flight positioning requirements
Once we've received the answers to those considerations, our private flight advisors can create an in-depth, accurate estimate that explains the chartered flight cost.
Providing clients with in-depth market analysis
We present clients with a range of pricing options for a given aircraft category. Our intention is to provide clients with clarity when choosing aircraft within their preferred aircraft class so that they can make informed buying decisions.
In order to provide clients with the most accurate charter flight cost estimate possible, our flight advisors look at price-determining factors such as:
- Historical rates
- Standard availability
- Seasonal costs, like de-icing
- Landing & airport fees
We do this so our clients can book with confidence knowing their flight advisor has competently and diligently analyzed all available aircraft in the charter market. This gives you the flexibility to choose your preferred aircraft at the best available price.
Are there any additional fees included in my private jet rental cost?
Firm quotes provided by Stratos private flight advisors are based on a specific aircraft's availability and are considered "all-in" prices, which include all taxes and any other anticipated fees. We bill all expected flight-related costs upfront so that there'll be no surprises.
There are some circumstances, however, in which additional charges may arise unexpectedly and increase your private jet flight cost. During winter, for example, your aircraft may require de-icing prior to departure. Since this is oftentimes an unforeseen expense, you would bear the additional cost and would see that bill after your trip.
For flight itineraries requiring multiple days on the ground before returning to the point of origin, overnight fees and daily minimums may be required. When these fees become cost prohibitive, or the selected aircraft has been scheduled for other charter service during the dates of your travel, the aircraft may return to base, incurring additional fees.
If you have an upcoming trip, please reach out to a Stratos private flight advisor today. We'd be pleased to provide you with honest and fair charter pricing. 888-593-9066
